To tell the story of WOM Book I have to start at the beginning and that's at an event I created three years ago now. This event is important as it's where I met some key members of the WOM team. It was really my personal start into creating my journey of travel & entrepreneurialism. I was really lucky to have the people I did involved in this event. Read on to learn more about it.
That really was an awesome night and the start of something really special. Firstly I met some really incredible people who would become a crucial part of the WOM team that was Carlos Agemez Garcia (WOM Graphic Designer), Ed Dallimore (WOM Photographer & Content Maker) & Alex Evans (photographer & Content Maker). I also had some other amazing artists and people participate in the night and the event. Shout out to Nati Dora and his incredible paintings. Nati paints in a little garage in North Bondi and you can often walk by and have a chat with him. Jaharn from Mister Weekender/Your Creative Start who did some incredible workshops including Instagram Photography & Mindfulness. We had an amazing abstract of Bondi Icebergs made especially for the event by Jennifer Brown. We had DJ Lili Joy on the decks making everyone so happy dancing at the end of the night.
This night was to launch my travel blog however, shortly after I came upon a very clear idea. I wanted to create a book, a travel guide to all things amazing in NSW and I wanted it to be a group collaboration project, a very visual book with local stories and people who can really share what New South Wales is about, as well as the activities you can get up to.
This was how my pitch came about and then it all just got started! I pitched my idea to ten people on a Wednesday night in a pub in Paddo and everyone seemed to be in so I took a leap of faith and started on the journey of creating WOM Book. Below you can see some photos of the initial travel blog event and also from some of our first meetings and then the making of the book. That's how it started, read other blogs to learn more about making the book and the WOM team members.
